Mentoring / Critical Reading / Workshops

I have learned so much from people who have taken an interest in my writing and would like to pass on all I can to other writers. Often all that is needed is a friendly voice on the phone or on email.

I will listen a lot and speak a little, read your work and give honest, constructive feedback. I can help you to plot your next move, set targets, celebrate and build on success and pick yourself up when writing seems like the last thing in the world you want to do.

Together we can map the paths towards your goals by examining what has gone right (or wrong) in the past. Success breeds more success and the road to your first ‘win’ is probably well within your grasp right now. I will help you find it and walk along it…or even sprint maybe!

I am an ex teacher and a Creative Writing tutor. I have won many awards and my poetry and short fiction has been published and broadcast. In 2011 I was short listed for the Fish Poetry Prize and performed a selection of poems at the Poetry Cafe in Covent garden. march 2012 saw my work featured in the first ‘Loose Muse’ anthology of women’s writing which was launched with great success at the Whitechapel Art Gallery.

I run regular workshops as well as leading a writing group. We can work together face to face if that is practical, by means of a regular on-line course of tutorials with feedback on work produced, or just with an in depth critical reading and follow-up discussion on one short piece of writing .

I tailor costs to need but as an indication, for one full critique and follow up discussion the price would be iro £15.
Currently, I am offering a special 6 week course on short poetry forms, with notes on each form, and hour of dedicated email support per week, critical readings of two drafts per week plus and a full critique of up to three completed pieces at the end of the course.

For details of my workshops and other services please go to my retails website at Behind the High Street

Contact me via this site, or email and we can discuss ways in which I may be able to help ranging from long term support to a critique of one poem.
